50 contestants in the 2011 edition of Miss Universe Great Britain

Road to Miss Universe Great Britain 2011

50 contestants are taking part in the 2011 edition of Miss Universe Great Britain. The winner represents the British isles in Miss Universe 2011 in Sao Paulo.

Below are the photos of some contestants:

Chloe Beth Morgan (photo, Right), from Torfaen, was crowned Miss Wales 2008 and took part in the same competition as Coleman: Miss World 2008. Morgan was luckier in these competitions, she was crowned Miss United Kingdom, giving her the right to represent UK in the 2009 Miss International contest in China, where she was the 2nd runner-up.

Emma Blythe, who represented Scotland in the Miss Supranational contest in Poland. She won the Best in Talent award.

Laura Coleman, a 25-year old model from Leicestershire, was crowned Miss England 2008 and represented her country in the 2008 Miss World contest in South Africa.

Launch of Miss World China 2011

Road to Miss World 2011

Miss World Alexandria Mills and Chairman of the Miss World Organisation Julia Morley were in Beijing on March 30th to attend the launch of this year’s national final for the People’s Republic of China’s entry into Miss World 2011.



This year’s competition carries three themes of “love”, “green” and “happiness”, and the eventual winner will hope to embody these three characteristics. The auditions, heats and semi-finals are due to take place across the country over the coming months, with the final events scheduled for August in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province.

Launch of Miss Malaysia World 2011

Road to Miss World 2011

The official launch for this year’s Malaysia competition took place in Kuala Lumpur. Miss World Alexandria Mills, Miss World Africa Emma Wareus, and Chairman of Miss World Organisation Julia Morley were in attendance at the ceremony, where it was announced that the Malaysia Final will take place on 20th August 2011.



Joining them were 2009′s Malaysia representative Thanuja Ananthan, and India’s Manasvi Mamgai, reuniting with Alexandria and Emma for the first time since the Miss World 2010 Final.

The Miss Malaysia World 2011 pageant was officially launched in January at the FusionExcel International headquarters in Petaling Jaya.

After gruelling auditions around the country, the finals will be held in August at the Sunway Convention Centre. Net sponsorship proceeds will be donated to children’s charities in Malaysia.

Miss France 2011 Laury Thilleman receivied her prize, a Peugeot

Miss France 2011 Laury Thilleman receiving her prize, a Peugeot. In addition to the crown and sash, the Miss France won a great gift, offered by sponsors of the pageant. The carmaker Peugeot offers each year a convertible car to the most beautiful woman in France. It was at the Salon du Cabriolet, Coupé and SUVs in Paris that Thilleman Laury, Miss France 2011, received the keys to the car that she was promised. The keys were handed to her by Marc Giulioli, Peugeot Marketing Director.

Kim Edri was crowned Israel’s maiden of Beauty 2011 or Miss Israel Universe 2011 at the finale of Miss Israel 2011 held at the Haifa Convention Center in Haifa on March 29, 2011. Kim Edri is 18 year old and stands 1.75 m. She will represent Israel in Miss Universe 2011.
