MISS UNIVERSE GREAT BRITAIN 2011 CONTESTANT - Laura Tebbutt

I am 18 years old and live in a tiny village in Rutland. This is my first ever beauty pagent or anything to do with modelling really, so I can't believe I have got this far and I am very honoured! I have so far achieved my GCSEs and then I went to college and completed my NVQ level 2 in Business Administration. Currently I am working as a waitress full time because I am saving to hopefully go travelling. I would love to travel around Australia and that is something that I really hope to pursue in the near future. I then would like to go back to college and progress onto my Business Administration level 3. In my spare time I help out in the family falconry business and fly birds of prey. I am really proud to be part of Miss Universe GB 2011. I think we are raising money for such a good cause and I really hope all the work we put in this year will make a big difference. Winning Miss Universe GB 2011 and going to represent Britain in the Miss Universe finals would be out of this world.

MISS UNIVERSE GREAT BRITAIN 2011 CONTESTANT - Andrea Sturmey

I have 10 GCSE’s and continued my education at college where I pursued courses covering Fashion & Clothing, Handbag design, Business in French and Pattern Cutting. I would like to study at London College of Fashion to expand my knowledge and move a step closer of becoming an entrepreneur in the fashion industry. I have been involved in many charity events in various ways including skydiving 13,000ft for The Variety Club, Children's charity. Fundraising is a passion of mine especially for children's charities. To give or do anything I can for those less fortunate is a pleasure and I hope to continue this throughout my life. During the last few years I have expanded my love of dancing by participating in a variety of dance groups ranging from Cheerleading and Freestyle to Ballroom and Latin American. The latter two, I am particularly proud of because my training helped me reach a professional standard. I am very ambitious and there are many things I’d like to achieve in my lifetime. Ultimately I strive to be happy and content. I am extremely honored to have been accepted into such a prestigious competition and I just hope that I can progress further and possibly get to represent my country. That really would be something I’d be proud of and remember for the rest of my life.

MISS UNIVERSE GREAT BRITAIN 2011 CONTESTANT - Nikki Stewart

I have achieved many things and have managed to see so many different places and this has helped to shape me into the person that I am today. I carry these experiences with me and use them with decisions that I am faced with. I aim to use my personal experiences to help and inform people that you can achieve what you set your mind to; all it takes is a little hard work and perseverance. I love working with children and enjoy seeing them achieve at all that they set their minds to and will help any way possible. My family and friends are always supportive of me and allow me to believe in myself and that life is not a waiting game but a game that you can make your own. Anything is possible, it just needs to be wanted enough and work hard for it. I hope to show young girls that no dream is too small and they just need some confidence to realise this. I would ideally hope to find a way of helping girls that have personal issues with their own body image or self esteem.

MISS UNIVERSE GREAT BRITAIN 2011 CONTESTANT - Priscilla Sinita

This year I have taken a break from my studies to fulfill some personal goals and also work to save enough money so that I can attend university the following year. Outside of work I have dedicated much time to two different charitable projects, whose causes I appreciate and strongly believe in. One involves the protection of our environment by preserving grassland flower species, to improve the ecosystem and its biodiversity. The second provides children, who have suffered abuse, with information and access to services that they may require and also raise their awareness about the cultural differences within the UK. I have a strong desire for different cultures to live in harmony and unity in the world today, with mutual respect and equality. This created a passion in me to increase my cultural knowledge and to travel the continents. I can speak three languages fluently: English, French and Lingala and I aspire to learn more throughout my career. In the next few years, my ambitions are to achieve a Masters degree in International Business, progress in my current Jeet Kune Do training to obtain a black belt and to establish myself as a professional model. I would like to prove that by working hard and having courage any dream is achievable.
