Genet Tsegay a 21-year-old third year architecture student was crowned Miss Ethiopia Universe 2012. The event was organized by Ethiopian Village at Radisson Blu Hotel in Addis Ababa.
The judging panel consists of the famous musician Chachi Tadesse, Getu Temesegen, George Fil, Yohanese Mezegebe and a well-known professor from Addis Ababa University Dr. Constantinos Berehe. There were 16 contestants in the event that was done in three rounds to have top 10, top 5 and finally top 3 winners.
The first runner up was Hinom Wondimu a 21 years old student who wants to be a model or an actress.
The second runner up was a 20 years old Hiwote Dinkalem who is a second year student in a business aministration and Information Systems program.
