Miss Brazil Universe 2011 Pageant will be held on July 23rd

Miss Brazil Universe 2011 Pageant will be held on July 23rd, 2011 instead of July 16th as scheduled earlier. Miss Brazil 2010 Debora Lyra will pass the crown to her successor at the end of the event. The winner will represent the host country in Miss Universe 2011 pageant to be held in Sao Paulo, September 12th. Rede Bandeirantes is responsible of bringing the Miss Universe contest to Brazil, for the first time in the pageant’s 60-year history.

Miss Italia nel Mondo 2011 will be held on June 25

Miss Italia nel Mondo 2011 or Miss Italy in the World 2011 the 20th anniversary edition of the pageant, will be held Saturday, June 25, at the Lungomare Falcomata, a popular beachfront in the Calabria region in Southern Italy. 40 beauties of Italian ancestry from all over the world will compete in the annual event, created by Enzo Mirigliani in 1991.

Pushpika Sandamali De Silva was crowned Derana Veet Miss Sri Lanka

Pushpika Sandamali De Silva, 21, was crowned as the new Derana Veet Miss Sri Lanka for Miss World 2011 at the Galadari Hotel in Colombo. She will represent Sri Lanka in Miss World 2011 in London, England on November 8. Shimalka Bodaragama and Chamupa Godage were the runner-ups.

The winner is an actress and model from Colombo.

Riza Santos was crowned Miss World Canada 2011

Road to Miss World 2011

Riza Santos, 23, a Calgary beauty queen of Filipino, Spanish, and Chinese ancestry, was crowned Miss World Canada 2011 at the River Rock Show Theater in Richmond.

Riza competed in Miss Earth 2006, but did not place among the semi-finalists. She placed 2nd in the Philippines Big Brother – Celebrity Edition 2. Inspired by her grandparents, the new Miss World Canada has completed training courses with the Canadian Forces.

She will represent Canada in Miss World 2011 in London, England on November 8.
