Vanessa Williams is the new Miss Sierra Leone 2012. She was officially presented by the Minister of Tourism and Culture, Victoria Saidu Kamara on February 28, 2012.

Williams will represent Sierra Leone in Miss World 2012 in Ordos, Inner Mongolia on August 18. Vanessa, in collaboration with the United Nations Fund for Population Activities is establishing vital projects for combating obstetric fistula and maternal mortality which is among the issues of health that are a concern to the country.

One of the top five finalists of the Miss Botswana 2011 pageant will be selected during the first week of  May to represent Botswana in Miss World 2012 in Ordos, Inner Mongolia on August 18.

 The Top Five finishers of Miss Botswana 2011 were :Tapiwa Anna-Marie Preston (1st runner-up), Sebaga Norwebb (2nd runner-up), Keletso Tselayakgosi and Nthabiseng Disele.

The Miss World Puerto Rico 2012 is Janelle Chaparro (right) who is shown with her predecessor Amanda Vilanova. Chaparro was Vilanova’s 1st runner-up. Since local organizers lacked time to produce a national pageant due to Miss World 2012 being moved to August, they handpicked Chaparro as Puerto Rico’s 2012 representative.

Dulcita Lieggi Francisco will be the new Miss Dominican Republic Universe 2012 after Carlina Duranwas dethroned today by the country’s organization after they found out that she was married.

The announcement to dethrone Carlina Duran was made by franchise holder Magali Febles, who organizes the Miss Dominican Republic Universe competition since 2004. Febles said that Duran will be replaced by the 1st runner-up, Dulcita Lieggi Francisco. “We had no choice but to take away her title”, she said. The coronation of Lieggi as the new Dominican representative in Miss Universe will take place on Wednesday.
