23-year-old beauty Luz Mery Decena Rivera was crowned the new Miss World Nicaragua 2013 on August 15th, 2013 during the Primera Hora TV show at the Canal 2 studios in Managua. She will represent Nicaragua in the upcoming Miss World 2013 pageant, scheduled for September 28th 213 in Bogor, Indonesia.
Luz is former winner of Reina del Carnaval Nicaragua which is considered as the second most prestigious beauty event in the country after Miss Nicaragua.
Luz Mery Decena was crowned the title after Adriana Paniagua, the original winner, gave up her title earlier this week, saying that she would not have enough time to prepare for her international challenge.
